Police investigating fatal apartment fire

The Windsor Police Arson Unit has launched an investigation following a fatal apartment fire in the city’s west end.

At approximately 7 a.m. on December 30, 2024, officers responded to an active fire at a ground-floor apartment in the 3000 block of Sandwich Street. Windsor Fire & Rescue Services were also dispatched and successfully extinguished the blaze.

A 71-year-old woman found inside was transported to hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
