Community Service Branch
Windsor Police Community Service Branch is responsible to proactively interact with the community in crime prevention techniques, children's traffic safety issues and substance abuse.
The goal of the Windsor Police Community Service branch is to raise community awareness of policing issues to gain greater community support and involvement. Community Service Branch also assists the Community Policing Advisory Committee with local policing initiatives, and provide problem oriented policing support to the Malden, Ojibway, Sandwich, Ford City, Glengarry, Our West End, Downtown and University of Windsor neighborhoods.
The Community Service branch is also responsible for managing special events including planning, liaison with sponsoring groups, arranging sufficient resources and assigning specific duties.
The Community Service Branch, is located directly next to the Sandwich Library, attached to General Brock School and it focuses on safety issues for all ages.
Four Community Service officers, The Diversity and Recruitment officer along with Three High School Resource officers provide safety presentations for our diverse communities, St. Clair College, University of Windsor, Grade schools and High schools throughout Windsor.
We also have a Community Service/High School Resource officer working out of our Amherstburg detachment who provides training and safety presentations to the community, grade schools and High school children in the Town of Amherstburg.
