The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 27-year-old man following a string of break-and-enters.

Between September 27 and October 7, 2024, police responded to reports of break-ins at a total of six units at two separate storage facilities in Windsor. In each incident, a suspect broke into the storage unit and stole a variety of personal items, including electronic products, women’s accessories, tools, and outdoor equipment.

Following an extensive investigation, members of the Target Base Unit identified the suspect as Rodulfo Sarate and recovered many of the items that had been stolen. On October 16, 2024, officers located and arrested Sarate in a parking lot in the 1300 block of Lauzon Road.

He has been charged with break-and-enter and commit to a place other than a dwelling-house (x 6) and possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000 (x 4).

Sarate is currently wanted by Durham Regional Police on multiple charges, including break-and-enter, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and failure to comply with a probation order. He is also wanted by York Regional Police for failure to comply with a release order.
