Two suspects arrested in possession of stolen vehicle


The Windsor Police Service has charged two suspects who were in possession of a stolen vehicle.

Shortly after 3 p.m. on June 22, 2024, an off-duty Windsor Police officer spotted a silver 2024 Chrysler Pacifica in the 1900 block of Bernard Road that matched the description of a vehicle stolen five days earlier. Members of the Problem-Oriented Policing Unit (POP) quickly arrived on scene and arrested the vehicle’s two occupants without incident.  

Kyle Royse, 33, and Monika Poplawski, 22, are both charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000. Royse is also charged with operation of a conveyance while prohibited (x 4).

Tips to deter auto theft  

Here are a few tips to help protect yourself and loved ones against auto theft:

  • Park your motorcycle or vehicle in a garage, or well-lit area.
  • Use a steering wheel or pedal locking device.
  • Invest in outdoor security cameras for your home.
  • Don’t leave keys in your vehicle while unattended.
  • Use a Faraday bag to protect your key fob from being cloned.
  • Invest in aftermarket vehicle alarm system or GPS tracking or recovery devices.
