Police investigate homicide near downtown 

The Windsor Police Service is investigating a homicide near downtown.

Shortly after 7 a.m. on January 27, 2025, officers responded to a call of unknown trouble in the 400 block of Wyandotte Street East. When officers arrived at the scene, they located an unresponsive man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency Medical Services personnel performed immediate first aid on the victim and transported him to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit has assumed control of the investigation and urge anyone with information about this crime to contact police. Additionally, residents and business owners in the vicinity are asked to review their surveillance or dash cam footage, specifically between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., for video evidence that may assist with the investigation.
