WINDSOR POLICE NEWS RELEASE
Case #: 25-28062
Repeat offender arrested for violating bail conditions
The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 43-year-old repeat offender for violating his bail conditions.
In November 2023, James Wesley Laramie was convicted of break-and-enter (x 3), theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of property obtained by crime. He was provided a conditional sentence order, which allows an offender to serve a jail sentence while living in the community under strict conditions instead of in a correctional facility.
In November 2024, Laramie was arrested on multiple charges, including break-and-enter (x 3), theft of a motor vehicle (x 2), dangerous driving, and possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5000. Additionally, an allegation of conditional sentence order breach was laid. His release order included house arrest.
Bail compliance officers investigated and found Laramie had breached the conditions of his release order.
On March 27, 2025, bail compliance officers, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police, located and arrested Laramie in the 400 block of East Puce Road in Belle River, Ontario.
He has been charged with failure to comply with his release order.
The bail compliance officers are part of the Offender Management Unit, a partnership between the Windsor and LaSalle Police Services launched in March 2024. This team supervises high-risk individuals placed under house arrest, curfew, or electronic monitoring – and ensures that those who breach their judicial release orders are held accountable. The Offender Management Unit is supported through a grant from the Government of Ontario, as part of the provincial government’s strategy to strengthen Ontario’s bail system.
