Two suspicious fires under investigation 

 
The Windsor Police Service has launched investigations following two suspicious fires over the weekend.

On April 28, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of an active house fire in the 100 block of McKay Ave. Windsor Fire and Rescue Services were also on scene and extinguished the blaze. All occupants of the residence escaped without physical injuries.

In a second incident on April 29, 2024, just before 2 a.m., officers attended a vacant apartment building in the 800 block of Ouellette Ave. for an active fire. There were no injuries reported because of the blaze. Damage is estimated at $150,000.

The two incidents are not believed to be connected. 

The Windsor Police Arson Unit has launched investigations and urges residents and business owners in the immediate areas of both incidents to review their surveillance or dashcam footage for evidence.
