Arson Unit investigating suspicious fire

​The Windsor Police Service has launched an arson investigation following a deliberate fire at a house over the weekend.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on August 19, 2023, officers responded to an active fire at a residence in the 2600 block of Whelpton Street. Windsor Fire and Rescue arrived on scene and quickly extinguished the blaze. No one was injured in the incident, but the structure sustained an estimated $30,000 in damages. 

Members of the Arson Unit were called to the scene to investigate and determined the fire was set intentionally. Investigators urge residents in the immediate area of the area to check their surveillance or dashcam footage for possible evidence.
