Stabbing suspect arrested


The Windsor Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection to a stabbing near downtown.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment building in the 400 block of Glengarry Avenue. The parties involved had left the scene before police arrived. However, officers reviewed surveillance video, which showed the suspect stab the victim, a 34-year-old male, once in the lower back following a physical altercation. 

Officers located and arrested the suspect approximately three hours later in the 900 block of Wyandotte Street East.

Mitchell Charles Butt, 32, is charged with:
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault causing bodily harm 
  • Breach of probation
