Suspect charged with defrauding hospital out of over $60,000
 

The Windsor Police Service has charged a 48-year-old woman for allegedly defrauding a local hospital’s volunteer association out of over $60,000. 

The Windsor Police Financial Crimes Unit launched an investigation in February 2023 after receiving a report of a fraud involving a hospital employee who managed the organization’s volunteer association. Through their investigation, officers discovered that a total of $62,169 intended for the volunteer association was instead deposited into the suspect’s personal bank account. 

Investigators determined that the fraud occurred over a five-year period, from November 2015 until September 2020.

Paulette Jagatic, of Tecumseh, has been charged with fraud over $5,000.
