Suspect in custody after stand-off with police 

 
Windsor Police Service has arrested a 48-year-old man who was wielding dangerous weapons and uttering death threats toward a neighbour.

On June 12, 2023, at approximately 7 p.m. police received two separate complaints advising that a suspect was using both a knife and axe to utter threats to a neighbour. 

Police officers arrived in the 900 block of Elsmere Ave. where the suspect threatened officers and refused to cooperate with the investigation. Police exhausted all efforts to communicate with the suspect. In the interest of public safety members of the Emergency Services Unit (ESU) contained the residence and attempted to serve an arrest warrant. 

This morning at approximately 8 a.m. the suspect exited his residence and was placed into custody without incident.
A 48-year-old man from Windsor is charged with mischief under $5,000, uttering death threats and weapons dangerous.
