Windsor Police seize $30,000 in drugs

An investigation by the Windsor Police Service’s Drugs and Guns Unit (DIGS) has led to the arrest of one suspect and the seizure of almost $30,000 in illegal drugs. 

In March 2023, the DIGS Unit launched an investigation into an individual alleged to be selling drugs in Windsor. On June 5, 2023, officers executed search warrants at the suspect’s house, located in the 1500 block of Hallmark Avenue, as well as three vehicles. 

During their search, officers seized 2,463 suspected counterfeit fentanyl tablets, 120 Oxycodone tablets, 14 grams of hashish, and 1.6 grams of cocaine. Over $1,100 in Canadian and U.S. currency was also recovered.

Romel Tomatos, 49, is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (two counts) and simple possession.
