Suspect arrested after downtown assault and attempted robbery


The Windsor Police Service has arrested a suspect following a downtown assault and attempted robbery.

On October 26, 2023, shortly before 5:30 p.m., officers were called to the corner of Ouellette Ave. and Maiden Ln. for a report of assault and attempted robbery. A male suspect struck a female in the head, then approached a second female demanding money and threatening violence. Minutes later, officers located and arrested the male suspect near the scene of the incident.

No injuries or stolen property were reported as a result of the incident.

Damien Browne, 45, has been charged with assault and attempted robbery.
