Technology Services
It is the primary goal of the Technology Services area to improve the overall operating efficiency of the Windsor Police Service by providing technical support of information technology based initiatives.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Operational Support, the Director of Technology Services oversees the following 3 unique units through a Supervisor.
The Infrastructure Support team is responsible for providing a wide range of technical support, that includes the administration and security of the data network infrastructure and the support of all servers, systems and application software in use. Two Systems Analysts staff this unit.
The Business Solutions team is responsible for assisting with the implementation of information technology projects by providing consulting, programming, application security and long-term support services along with continual reviews of data workflow policies. Four Systems Analysts and one Work Flow Data Analyst staffs this unit.
The Client Services team is responsible to provide front line technical support for the various types of Information Technology in use, such as computer desktops, computer notebooks, network printers, multiuse devices, smart phones that access the network. Basic assistance with application support is also provided. All requests for technical assistance are made through this centralized “Help Desk” support center. One Lead Computer Maintenance Technician and 2 General Technical Support positions staff this unit.
